Lance Reddick expressed his deep admiration for his co-stars Keanu Reeves and Ian McShane in one of his final interviews before his sudden death on March 17, at the age of 60. The actor had worked with Reeves and McShane for nearly a decade on the “John Wick” franchise, playing the role of Charon, a hotel concierge and old acquaintance of John Wick, in all four of the Chad Stahelski-directed films. Reddick referred to his co-stars as family and explained how much they were like family, “You see, with the three of us, it’s not just the family that you’re born into, but the family that you created.”

At the premiere for “John Wick: Chapter 4” on Monday, Reeves expressed his love for his late co-star and the strong relationship they developed while working together. Reeves, 58, acknowledged the great loss and how much it hurt that Reddick was not with them, emotionally adding that “it f–king sucks he’s not here.”

On the red carpet, Reeves wore a blue ribbon on his lapel to honor Reddick, whose favorite color was blue. The ribbons were distributed to the cast and crew before the premiere along with a note that read, “We kindly ask you to wear this royal blue ribbon in honor of our dear friend Lance Reddick.”

Reddick, who is best known for his role as police officer Cedric Daniels in the HBO show “The Wire” and other shows such as “Fringe” and “Oz,” passed away unexpectedly in his Studio City home from natural causes. His fans and co-stars alike mourned his loss and honored his legacy as an artist and a kind human being.

“John Wick: Chapter 4,” which was originally set to release in May 2021 but was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, hit theaters on Friday, and fans of the franchise enjoyed seeing Reddick’s final performance as Charon. His stellar acting and warm personality will undoubtedly be missed but remembered fondly by those who knew him.
