Ashley Park Suffers Critical Septic Shock During Vacation

Ashley Park, known for her role in “Emily in Paris,” recently shared a harrowing health scare. She revealed that she went into “critical septic shock” while vacationing over the New Year’s holiday. This happened while she was with her co-star and boyfriend, Paul Forman.

The actress explained that what began as tonsillitis quickly escalated. It spiraled into critical septic shock, infecting and affecting several of her organs. She shared this information, along with images and videos of her hospitalization, in an Instagram post.

Despite the severity of her condition, Park expressed gratitude for her recovery. She stated, “I am grateful that my health has improved despite what we had initially been told.” She shared images from her vacation in the Maldives, where the incident occurred.

Her boyfriend, Paul Forman, was a constant presence throughout her ordeal. Park praised him for his unwavering support. She wrote, “You calmed my fears and held me through ambulances, three foreign hospitals, a week in the ICU, scary ERs, countless scans and tests and injections, excruciating pain …”

Park, 32, had been vacationing in the Maldives. She expressed deep gratitude to the ICU nurses and doctors who worked tirelessly to help her. She also thanked the Joali Being resort for their immediate response and support.

The Broadway performer also credited Forman, 29, for his unconditional support throughout her health scare. She gushed about his calming presence during her time in ambulances, foreign hospitals, and the ICU. She also mentioned the countless scans, tests, injections, and pain she endured, all while they were alone on the other side of the world.

Park admitted she was hesitant to share her story. She’s still in the “throes of recovery” but is “safely on the other side of the worst.” She concluded her post by promising her followers that she’s healing and will be okay.

The actress also shared her post on her Instagram Story. Here, she continued to express her love and gratitude to Forman. She wrote, “@peforman I can’t believe we spent the first weeks of our 2024 in the ICU and hospitals. I’m the luckiest for having you Paul…by my side through the painful scary parts of life as well as the joy.”

Park’s co-star and the show’s lead, Lily Collins, expressed her emotions in the comments section of Park’s post. She wrote, “I can hardly look at these without crying. I love you sister and I’m forever grateful you’re on the other side of this and for @peforman for your incredibly huge heart and for being there every step of the way. I cannot wait to hug you both ❤️.”
