Early Life
Bryce Young was born and raised in Pasadena, California although he spent most of his early years in Los Angeles. At his L.A.-based high school, Young made a name for himself in the football program, playing all four seasons. His senior year was perhaps the most fruitful in terms of yards passed, where he threw for a whopping 4,528 and completed 58 touchdowns. This resulted in the Los Angeles Times naming him Player of the Year in addition to USA Today awarding him with the high honor of High School Offensive Player of the Year.
Football Career
When Young was finally up for college football recruitment, he was one of the best prospects around, and Alabama Crimson Tide’s long-term head coach Nick Saban took full notice. The 20-year-old rookie was given a full ride to the Tuscaloosa-based football program in 2020. Although he played back up to fellow quarterback Mac Jones throughout the season, he did appear in a total of nine games, passing for 156 yards. However, when the new season began this year, it was decided that Young would replace Jones as starting QB. So far, the college newbie is doing extremely well, currently leading Alabama’s offense and helping them become the number one team in the SEC West. Young has been described as a ‘dual-threat’ quarterback, meaning that he has proven himself talented in both passing and running the ball. He isn’t a player that only stands behind the line flaunting his throwing mechanics, but rather is also effective in rushing towards the endzone when need be. As far as Bryce Young’s relationship status goes, we can assume that the football player is single because he has not posted anything on his social media accounts. Nick Saban noticed Young’s undeniable talent early on, comparable to other top players in both the college and professional league such as former Alabama QB A.J.
