Cher Temporarily Blocked from Son Elijah Blue Allman’s Conservatorship

Cher’s bid to control her son Elijah Blue Allman’s estate hit a roadblock. A Los Angeles Superior Court judge temporarily denied her request. The music icon’s conservatorship petition was rejected on a Friday, as reported by the Daily Mail.

Judge Jessica Uzcategui wasn’t convinced. She felt that Cher’s attorneys gave Allman less than 24 hours notice of the court action. In addition, they refused to share confidential information about the case with him.

The judge scheduled a hearing for Jan. 29. She ordered Cher’s lawyers to share all confidential information they have with Allman’s legal team a week before.

Despite Cher’s claim that Allman was missing, he showed up at the hearing. He was accompanied by his wife, Marieangela King, with whom he recently reconciled.

Allman, a fellow musician, was dressed in a light blue shirt and dark gray slacks. He wore a brown belt, a navy puffer jacket, and black sneakers. His salt-and-pepper hair was slicked back, and he wore sunglasses as he left the courthouse.

King, 36, chose a cream-colored pantsuit for the occasion. She accessorized with black lace gloves and bright red lipstick. She stood closely by her husband’s side.

Last month, Cher filed for a conservatorship over Allman’s estate. She claimed that he was unable to manage his finances due to severe mental health and substance abuse issues. Cher mentioned in her request that Allman earns $120,000 per year from a trust established by his father, Gregg Allman, to whom she was once married.

Cher expressed her fear to the court. She said that any funds distributed to Elijah would be spent on drugs, leaving him with no assets and putting his life at risk.

Earlier this week, Elijah responded to his mother’s petition with a staunch objection. He argued that a conservatorship of the estate was not necessary at this time. He also stated that the proposed conservator was unfit to serve.

Elijah admitted that he had struggled with addiction and spent money irresponsibly. However, he insisted that he was under the care of a doctor and attending AA meetings. He claimed that he was clean and sober for over 90 days and was capable of managing his money.

Elijah also mentioned that he had recently filed to dismiss his divorce from King. He explained that they were working on their relationship now that he had found a path to sobriety. He added that he did not need his mother’s unsolicited help or support at this time.

Reps for Cher did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
