Lesley Cook, the current wife of David Beador, ex-husband of Real Housewives of Orange County star Shannon Beador has claimed that she endured six years of physical, mental, and emotional abuse from David during their marriage. The couple, who share a two-year-old daughter named Anna, filed for divorce in May 2023. Lesley filed for a restraining order against David, claiming he had been acting erratically and harassing her ever since their split. She also alleged that David had been extremely hostile towards her.
As part of her filing, Lesley asked the court to award her primary custody of Anna with David having supervised visitation. She described multiple incidents involving David that caused her concern, including one where she claimed he gave her the middle finger while she was driving near their home. Lesley claimed she had suffered physical, mental, and emotional abuse on many occasions during her six years of marriage to David but stayed with him because he had financial control over her.
Lesley claimed to have obtained an emergency protective order against David in December 2022, and also documented two physical injuries during their marriage. However, she did not press charges or seek a restraining order because David threatened to cut her off financially. In one alleged incident, Lesley claimed that David poured a whole bottle of Plax mouthwash on her head, causing her to develop an eye infection.
In response to Lesley’s petition, David filed for his own restraining order, denying all allegations made by Lesley. A judge granted both petitions and ordered the parties to stay 100 yards away from each other until a hearing later this year. This drama comes after Shannon and David were photographed together at a restaurant earlier in the month, despite their divorce in 2017 after 17 years of marriage.
