Feds Seek to Seize Jen Shah’s Jewelry as Part of Forfeiture Obligation

Federal authorities are seeking to seize the jewelry of Jen Shah, former star of “Real Housewives of Salt Lake City,” as part of her $6.5 million forfeiture obligation from her telemarketing scheme. Despite authorities being unable to locate assets Shah purchased with cash, they did obtain a diamond-encrusted silver necklace with a snowflake pendant from Baranof Jewelers. Investigators from the Department of Homeland Security want to seize the rest of Shah’s jewelry, and Shah has already started making restitution payments to those she swindled.

Federal authorities are seeking to seize Jen Shah’s jewelry, including a diamond-encrusted silver necklace and an 18-karat rose gold and diamond ring, to put towards the $6.5 million forfeiture obligation she agreed to pay as part of her guilty plea deal for her involvement in a telemarketing scheme.

Former “Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” star Jen Shah may have to forfeit some of her jewelry to meet her financial obligations, according to recent court filings. Shah had agreed to pay $6.5 million as part of her guilty plea deal in a telemarketing fraud case. However, authorities have been unable to trace some of the assets Shah acquired with cash. Nevertheless, they managed to locate some of her jewelry, including a diamond-encrusted necklace and an 18-karat rose gold and diamond ring. The authorities want to seize the rest of her jewelry to satisfy her forfeiture obligation.

Shah’s attorney did not respond to requests for comment, and her team has yet to acknowledge the filing. The disgraced reality star is currently serving a prison sentence of over six years. During her sentencing, Shah apologized for hurting innocent people, particularly the elderly, and promised to reimburse her victims. She has already begun paying the $6.5 million she owes.

Last week, Shah’s representative confirmed that the reality star has begun making restitution payments to the people she swindled. The representative also stated that Shah remained committed to atoning for her actions and putting them behind her.

While the authorities search for Shah’s assets, the reality star is continuing to serve her sentence at the Bryan Federal Prison Camp. Although her original sentence was for more than six years, she has already received one year’s reduction since reporting to the facility. It is unclear when Shah will be able to pay off her obligation fully and return to her family and work life.
