Former “GMA3” anchors Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes were spotted running the New York City Half Marathon together, which they began training for last year during their romantic relationship, which began before their affair was made public and resulted in them leaving their respective partners.
Former “GMA3” hosts Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes were seen running the 2023 New York City Half Marathon together in Times Square and Central Park last Sunday. The couple, whose friendship blossomed into a romantic relationship while training for a marathon in the previous year, flew under the radar during the race. Unlike previous years, the duo’s names were not included in the list of celebrity runners.
Ms. Robach, aged 50, opted for a bright blue pair of leggings, paired with a white puffer jacket, neon orange trainers, black gloves and a beanie. In contrast, Mr. Holmes, aged 45, wore an all-black outfit topped with a black beanie and neon green trainers. It was reported that the couple boasted about being able to run incognito while jetting back to the Big Apple for the United Airlines NYC Half Marathon after their romantic Mexico getaway.
Sources who knew the couple reported that Ms. Robach, the more experienced runner of the pair, announced to everyone that Mr. Holmes would run the half-marathon with her before publicly pressuring him to join. The duo then upped the stakes by running the New York City marathon back in November, just weeks before their love affair became public and sparked one of the biggest scandals in ABC News’ history.
Reports that the couple had lost their high-profile gigs at ABC News after their relationship came to light were confirmed. However, an insider claimed that Ms. Robach had saved Mr. Holmes on several occasions throughout their friendship. The co-workers left their respective partners to pursue a relationship with each other. Ms. Robach finalized her divorce from actor Andrew Shue earlier that week, while Mr. Holmes is still settling his fallout with lawyer Marilee Fiebig, whom he married in 2010, with the estranged couple sharing a daughter who is now 10 years of age.
