Country singer Jimmie Allen and his wife, nurse Alexis Gale, have announced their separation on social media. The couple, who secretly married in June 2020 and held a larger wedding in Pennsylvania in May 2021, have been together for two years and share two daughters, Naomi and Zara, as well as Allen’s son Aadyn from a previous relationship. Gale is currently pregnant with their third child.
In a statement posted to Instagram, Allen wrote that the decision to separate was made “after much thought and reflection in recent months,” but emphasized that their “number one priority is and always will be ensuring that [their] children are healthy, happy, and loved.” He also noted that the couple will “remain committed to co-parenting with love and respect for one another.”
The “Dancing With the Stars” alum concluded by requesting privacy during this time, as well as expressing excitement for the new addition to their family later this year. Gale shared a similarly worded statement on her own Instagram account.
Allen had previously admitted that he “never wanted to get married” until he met Gale, but also joked that divorcing her would be “a lot of paperwork.” It is unclear whether divorce proceedings are currently underway.
