Matthew Perry Accused of Abusive Behavior Towards Ex-Fiancée Molly Hurwitz

Matthew Perry, the late “Friends” star, was allegedly abusive to several women. This includes his ex-fiancée, Molly Hurwitz, in the years leading up to his death in October 2023.

The Daily Mail reported these allegations. Sources close to Perry claimed he once “threw a coffee table” at Hurwitz in 2021. This incident supposedly happened after she questioned him about cheating.

Hurwitz, a 32-year-old literary manager, and Perry began dating in 2018. They got engaged in November 2020. However, seven months later, they called off their engagement. Rumors were swirling that Perry was flirting with then-19-year-old Kate Haralson on the dating app Raya.

Sources told the Daily Mail that Hurwitz actually broke up with Perry in February 2021. This happened after a massive fight on Valentine’s Day. Hurwitz allegedly dumped Perry after discovering he bought a romantic gift for someone else he met on Raya.

Matthew Perry’s alleged abusive behavior is coming to light more than two months after his death. The Daily Mail also reported that Perry allegedly pushed his live-in sober companion, Morgan Moses, into a wall. He then “threw her onto a bed” during an alleged “meltdown” in March 2022.

After the incident, Moses quit her job as his sober companion. She ended all contact with Perry a year before his memoir, “Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing,” was released in November 2022.

The insider added, “The man those close to him knew and the man that the world saw were two very different people.” Moses and Hurwitz declined to comment when contacted by the Daily Mail.

Page Six has reached out to Perry’s reps as well as Hurwitz and Moses for comment but did not immediately hear back. Perry was found dead in his jacuzzi on Oct. 28, 2023. He was 54.

A coroner later announced that the “Serving Sara” star died from “acute effects of ketamine.” In addition to the ketamine, the coroner listed drowning, coronary artery disease, and buprenorphine effects as other conditions that contributed to his death.

Despite their alleged rocky relationship, Hurwitz paid tribute to Perry on social media after news surfaced of his death. She wrote on Instagram that though she loved her ex-fiancé “deeper than I could comprehend,” Perry “was complicated, and he caused pain like I’d never known.”

“No one in my adult life has had a more profound impact on me than Matthew Langford Perry,” Hurwitz wrote. “I have tremendous gratitude for that, for everything I learned from our relationship.
