English rock band The 1975’s lead vocalist, Matty Healy, was spotted in the VIP section of Taylor Swift’s concert in Nashville last Friday night amidst rumours that the two are romantically involved. The British singer wore a flannel shirt and black tee as he watched Swift’s sold-out “Eras” tour performance at Nissan Stadium. Insiders alleged that Healy had flown all the way from the Philippines, where his band had performed two shows recently, to attend the “Anti-Hero” singer’s show.
Media reports first linked the pair romantically in 2014 and 2016, respectively. A source revealed that the duo was ‘madly in love’, despite only dating casually for less than two months. Healy is said to have performed “She’s American” onstage last Thursday, which fans interpreted as a nod to his blossoming relationship with Swift. The couple allegedly wants to own their romance and not hide it away.
However, representatives from neither artist have commented publicly on their relationship status. Swift broke up earlier in May with her longtime beau Joe Alwyn, with no reported ill feelings between the former couple. Nonetheless, Healy had already announced in the media in 2021 that he would stop his habit of kissing fans out of respect for ‘queen’ Swift.
Swift, who had kicked off her “Eras” tour in March, announced at her Nashville show last Friday that her next re-recorded album, Speak Now, will drop in July. The three-day Nashville leg of her tour will wrap up on Sunday. Fans of Swift expressed mixed emotions over the rumoured romance, with one vowing to block her songs if the allegations proved to be accurate.
