Paul Michael Glaser Discusses Difficulty Comprehending David Soul’s Death

Paul Michael Glaser is grappling with the death of his former co-star, David Soul. The news of Soul’s passing hasn’t quite sunk in for Glaser yet.

“I find it difficult to comprehend David’s passing,” Glaser admitted. He reminisced about their recent phone conversations, filled with friendly banter.

“It just takes time, I tell myself,” he said. Saying goodbye to such a close friend and significant part of his life is a process. He expects to feel the loss gradually.

Glaser, now 80, fondly remembered Soul as a brother, a friend, a caring man. He extended his condolences to Soul’s wife, Helen Snell, and his six children.

“He loved and cherished Helen,” Glaser said. He recalled how Soul often spoke of his wife’s importance, especially during difficult times.

Glaser also expressed his sympathies to Soul’s children, including his daughter, China. He acknowledged the public’s support and love for his relationship with Soul.

“We have all lost a dear friend,” he said. Glaser hopes Soul will rest in peace and live on in everyone’s memories.

Soul passed away on Thursday at the age of 80. His wife, Snell, confirmed the tragic news. They had been married since 2010, after eight years of dating.

Snell described her late husband as a gifted actor, singer, storyteller, creative artist, and friend. “His smile, laughter, and passion for life will be remembered,” she said. She did not elaborate on the cause of his death.

Soul rose to fame in the ’70s, playing Detective Kenneth “Hutch” Hutchinson in “Starsky & Hutch.” Glaser played his partner, Detective Dave Starsky. The duo reunited for a 2004 film remake of the show.

Throughout his career, Soul starred in numerous movies and TV shows. His final role was a cameo in the 2013 Scottish film “Filth.”
