The patient, Luz Del Alba Soto, had filed a lawsuit against Hochstein and his medical practice in 2021, alleging professional negligence during a procedure she underwent in 2020. According to court documents, Soto claimed that following the surgery, she experienced significant health problems including surgical wounds not healing properly, pain, infection, and functional impairment.
In the lawsuit, Soto stated that as a result of Hochstein’s work, she has suffered severe cosmetic disfigurement and functional impairment that will impact her for the rest of her life. She had to undergo further surgery to correct the mistakes made during Hochstein’s procedure.
