Actress Shannen Doherty is divorcing her third husband, Kurt Iswarienko, and her representative suggests that another woman is involved, while sources claim that Doherty’s health has deteriorated further due to her ongoing breast cancer battle.
Shannen Doherty, the star of the hit TV show “Charmed”, has filed for divorce from her husband Kurt Iswarienko, according to her publicist Leslie Sloane. Sloane stated that divorce was the last thing that Doherty wanted, however, she felt like she had no other option. The statement also suggested that another woman was involved in the split, and named Kurt’s agent as someone who was “intimately involved”.
According to TMZ, Doherty filed the divorce papers in Los Angeles, stating that the two had been separated since January. Sources close to Doherty told TMZ that the actress, who was diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer in February of 2020, is in poor health, which is making the “acrimonious” split even more difficult.
This is the third time Doherty has been married, and Iswarienko is her third husband. There is reportedly no prenuptial agreement between the actress and the photographer, and the two do not have any children together. Doherty is asking for spousal support, but for it not to be given to Iswarienko, who is being represented by celebrity divorce attorney Laura Wasser.
Doherty previously spoke about how her first breast cancer battle changed her marriage with Iswarienko for the better in a 2019 interview with People magazine. “Cancer solidified us,” she said at the time. “Kurt and I have a much deeper appreciation for each other now.”
It is unclear why the couple is getting a divorce, and Kurt’s agent, Collier Grimm, has not responded to a request for comment.
